Unless Colt is injured he's going to start. I'm supporting whoever is out there under center. However, if he lays an egg the rest of the way and we get blown out by a Mobilehoma team next week (that just got beat by CU) then Chiles probably gets his shot against Iowa State.

We are getting out coached and out played.... they had 2 weeks to draw their plans for us and its paying off. how many interceptions off of tipped balls by the Dline? 3? the KSU dline deserves national players of the week. we just arent that good. to let someone come in and manhandle us..... im not gonna sugarcoat it. KSU has a good ball club though.... but so do we.... or so i thought we did until today.......

Texas is pretty fortunate even to have come into this game undefeated.

At least no one will hype next week's game now. It's always WAY overhyped. Who cares who wins it now? I certainly don't, but I'll predict an OU rebound and a convincing one at that.

Texas is just not that good this year and McCoy is VERY inconsistent, but then he has been for the entire time he's tried to replace the irreplaceable Vince. Too bad Vince had to be there today to witness this.

He was darn lucky to get Vince. The only bad thing to come out of the Vince Young era is that it bought Greg Davis more time to ruin games. I think folks are now getting to see that it was Vince and the Horns winning in spite of that moron.

We have no chance next week against ZeroU. None...Even with their loss today we have no chance. Unless we're playing Chiles it's going to be 2 yard slant after 2 yard slant after 2 yard slant.

This whole thing is a mess. Greg Davis is a joke, but you already know that. The only conclusion I can come to here is that the coaching staff doesn't want to throw a freshman into the fire in a situation like this where it might completely ruin his confidence. I don't see any other explanation right now that'd hold water. While I'm greatly disappointed in Colt's play today, he's not exactly getting much in the way of good coaching.

Colt should call his own plays

Aesculus gilmus
09-29-2007, 05:47 PM
I can tell you why, although I don't agree with it.

Colt is a tender lad and has never been pulled from a game yet as a Longhorn and we just don't know how it might affect his confidence in future games.

I hope Coach Gundy doesn't read this. At least I am not talking about one of HIS precious darlings. But it IS true that young Colt is just an amateur athlete and seems to be a genuinely nice kid.

Everything I've read about Colt leads me to believe he's a good kid. However, being a good kid doesn't mean he should be given a long leash. He just doesn't have it today and it might've been wise for UT to bring in Chiles to see if he could've sparked the team to a victory today.

Either way things are probably going to get ugly. I'm sure you'll see plenty of UT fans get personal about McCoy and that's disconcerting to me. Getting frustrated about him stinking it up on the field is one thing. Taking personal shots at him, which you know are coming, is pretty low.

Ask Luvhoops I told her that if we kept Colt in, this was going to get ugly (this was when he had 2 picks). Since it was raining we needed to run the ball, and to use our best running options (which would be Chiles in the ball game). So what happens? We come out flinging the ball and has 2 more picks. Its basic football 101, when its raining your better off keeping the ball on the ground (if you can).

It's true. Sad, but nevertheless true.

He'll do his fair share of defending Colt this week leading up to the ZeroU game, but the fanbase wants Chiles (I want Chiles in there myself, but if Colt is out there I'll still support him) so it doesn't matter what Coach Brown has to say.

Half the blame for the interceptions should be on the O-line. As an offensive lineman you have to keep their hands down, or atleast do something.... sheesh... But then again Colt locks in on his go to target every play and leads them to were hes going with it. and plus take into account KSU had 2 weeks to gameplan for us and it all makes sense. not making any excuses. we arent very good, AT ALL. and after how bad we got exposed by a team thats average at best today makes me want to think that if something doesnt change or we dont start playing better as a team then we are on track for 3-4 more losses, maybe 5 depending on the bowl team. We are getting exposed in every aspect of the game this year.

heres something I got from Orangbloods

CalHorn wrote: Colt's main problem is the fact that he doesn't look off receivers, not his physical stature. And that's partially his fault and partially the coaching staff's fault. Every single interception today was the result of McCoy locking in on a receiver and the defense reading his eyes and getting their arms and hands up to tip passes.

Can you say, "Chris Simms"?

Colt's accuracy this year is terrible. He looks off on his throws. Not by much, but how many balls were just off the fingertips of receivers? How many times was there a guy wide open and he just missed them? A sad day to be a longhorn fan indeed.:(
