The 2007-2008 hockey season will kick off this weekend as the Los Angeles Kings play the defending Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks in London, England for a two game series starting on Saturday. The NHL is now in its third season back since the lockout, and it's a much better game than it was before.

With the latest faltering of the US women's soccer team, I think that the NHL would be a great cause for you to pick up on Phil! Many people don't realize that the Dallas Stars have won more championships in the last decade than the rest of Dallas' teams combined!

Also, they have great deals for students at home games. If you arrive an hour before faceoff, you are allowed to buy remaining seats for a huge discount at the ticket office. Lower level seats that go for $150 are available for $20 and upper levels that sell for as much as $65 can be had for $10!

Good luck to the Stars in the upcoming hockey season. Their first game comes next week against the hated Colorado Avalanche!

And Detroit will win the Presidents trophy(given to the team
that finishes the regular season with the most points) and lose
in the first or second round as usual.:(

Hockey is good. And don't forget the Winter Olympics are coming very soon. Good news indeed!

All the more reason to watch hockey...get a sneak peak at the top US players, including Stars forward Mike Modano, who is the all-time American goal-scoring leader.

Well it's on Versus. Is that really being on TV?

It always disappoints me that Dallas allowed the North Stars to move down here. Hockey doesn't belong in the Great State of Texas or anywhere else this far south for that matter.

umm...unless Canada is a communist nation, that's crazy.

And it was actually invented here in the great USA...

It's a great sport. Much more entertaining than that crazy crap called basketball.

The Dallas Stars begin their season tonight in Colorado at 8:30 on Versus!

If you have DirecTV HD, Versus has recently launched an HD channel and will be carrying this game tonight!

The Avs have been one of the Stars top rivals since the late 90s thanks to some epic playoff battles, and every time the two meet, you know you're in for a treat.

Surprisingly, Dallas went 4-0 against the Avalanche last year, but Colorado eliminated Dallas in the 2006 playoffs in five games.
