Haha, I'm with you. I remember some of the more recent Ingleside players, but we had a few back in the 50's and 60's who went to the NFL. Can't remember their names for the life of me.

QB - Kevin Vickers

Kevin Vickers, Liberty Hill

While 2,000-yard rushing seasons have become the norm in Liberty Hill, turning backs like Casey Kociuba, Ryan Lawhon and Brent Bode into All-State players, those who have followed Panther football through the decades point back to Vickers, who may go down as the best athlete the school has ever produced.

Vickers' versatility allowed coaches to move him around the offense, adjusting systems as they did. He began at quarterback, then moved to receiver, then back to quarterback the following season.

Vickers went on to Tarleton State, where he became the first 3,000-yard passer in school history in 1994.

RT Bench Rider: Gobbla2001

My senior year, a sophmore started at center, he was really good... maybe the best center we ever had? Cody Wallace, starting center for A&M...

big oline that year... RT was 6'3 330 (2nd at state powerlifting meet), left tackle was 6'4 320... and then of course Cody who was just 6'4 275 then...

I dunno... I'd say throw Henry Sheppard in at OL... played wit the Browns

and ole Quincy's uncle Arthur at the second RB spot behind Strait

And at QB the best passing QB may have been Brad Goebel, ended up completing passes with the Eagles and Browns...though Noack may be up there as well... Clint was good though...

What about a QB who only played in Cuero in 7th and 8th grade? Joe Jon Finley's not a bad TE up in Sooner land...

Yes sir. Best HS player I've ever seen. Excelled at every position he played (and he played just about every position on the field).

If I was throwing one out for Ingleside, it'd probably look like this. Don't know much about the old guys, though

Ingleside
Coach: Wayne Wilsher
Assistants: Emory Bellard, Mike Hesseltine :D

QB: QB Ryan Peel (c/o '96... If I remember correctly, played at TAMU-K)
RB: DeWayne Jones (c/o '00... Played at UofH)
RB: Bubba Jackson (c/o '96... All-State RB... Trinity University)
WR: Sonny Rodriguez (c/o '03)
WR: Joel Johnson (c/o '07... All-State WR)
WR: David Stewart (c/o '02... Played soccer for Grand Valley State and then Cleveland State)
OL: Rudy Elizondo (c/o '96... Played for some NAIA school up in the midwest... Got a national championship ring his freshman year)
OL: Walter Lott (c/o '00... Could've played anywhere he wanted... May have been the best player to ever come through Ingleside High)
OL:
OL:
OL:
Util: David Lyons (c/o '98... Texas Lutheran University as a RB, KR, and P)
Util: Zack Adams (c/o '07)
Util: Brian Chatman (c/o '02... I wish we would've had enough depth to play him on D; Even at 5'5", he was probably the best safety I've ever seen come through Ingleside... Played at TAMU-K)

K: Either Victor Trevino (c/o '96) or David Stewart (c/o '02... Cleveland State [soccer])

DL: Leonard Williams (c/o '97)
DL: Chance Timbs (c/o '96)
DL:
DL:
LB: LB Paul Campbell (c/o '99... In the same boat as Walter. May have been the best player Ingleside's ever produced, also could've played anywhere he wanted on Saturdays.)
LB:
LB:
DB: CB Casey Dohogne (c/o '99)
DB:
DB:
DB:

P: David Lyons (c/o '98... TLU)

I also remember thinking that OL/DL Roger Guerrero and WR George Baltimore were great growing up, but my view of them was probably a little skewed considering how young I was. I'd like to know how they stack up to everyone else on the list.

Also, old-timers Mike Adame, Abel Adame, Buddy White, Curtis Barker, and Colby Clanton (that last name sound familiar to any of the downlowers?) were big-time.

I'd also put old man McDonald and Mr. Kucera on the list. Both teach at Ingleside ISD (well, I think they still do... still did a few years back) and were studs on some of the great, state-bound teams in the 60's.

PS: I just googled this write-up about Davy while he was at TLU. Interesting stuff.

David Lyons (5-8, 200, Jr.), the Bulldogs’ all-purpose king, should see time in the backfield as well. Lyons is the team’s leading rusher among returnees after amassing 339 yards and five touchdowns in ’99. Lyons also returns as the punter, punt returner and kick returner. He was honorable mention All-ASC as a return specialist.....

Unless someone emerges from camp that can outperform him, David Lyons will continue his duties at punter, although he and the coaches wouldn’t mind if he could concentrate on returning punts and kicks and some fullback duties. Lyons averaged 37.5 yards per punt and had a long of 64. He also placed 11 balls inside the 20. He did not have a single kick blocked, something the Bulldogs struggled with in 1998.

Coming into camp, Lyons is also the returning starter at punt and kick returner. He averaged 8.1 yards per punt return and 24.0 yards per kick return with a long of 73.

I left out a few spots and my team is more slanted toward the immediate past because I was not here for the early 80's PI teams. Perhaps some of the "old-timers" could help me out a bit.

Also, I took out one of the WR positions and added another RB, because PI has always been a running team and has thrown the ball very little
