the little green dot on the back of all of the QBs' helmets in the NFL this year? What is it for? My wife has been asking me every time we sit down to watch a game, and I don't know.

It is for the only player allowed to have a two way headset on during a play on the field. It's the quarterback who uses it to communicate with the coaches in the booth or sidelines . If 2 or more players had the same headset it would make it unfair to the defense.

I understood that they get disabled as soon as the team is set. Can't be used to advise audibles from what I heard.
