Yea, great game. Wimberley had momentum early, but fumbled inside the 4 yard line that cost the Texans big time. Another drive was stopped inside LE territory when we were stuffed for no gain on a 4th and 1. LE was the recipient of a number of questionable calls that kept them going in the 3rd quarter. A number of flags that were apparent calls against LE were waived off. One was an obvious block in the back that freed LeMichael James for a TD. Coach Smith followed the Ref up and down the field. The Texans were having to play both LE and the Refs. WOW were they bad. Nevertheless, the Texans showed a lot of heart to come back and tie the game. They fought hard and showed that they will be fine as the season progresses. LE was extremely fast, but I thought we did a good job of stopping the run. They hurt us mainly on the passes when LeMichael James would play quarterback and then dump the pass off. That is how they scored in overtime At any rate, great hard fought game by both teams. LE sure depends on James. I hope he stays healthy for their sake. IF I had to put the game into perspective, the score was actually Wimberley 24, LE 16 and Officials 14. Looks like it took em both to beat the Texans tonight.

Oh I already know that next week Vance will show no mercy in an attempt to avenge the 3 straight losses to wimberley. and I know they will have their starters in till late 4th and their motto next week will be " Let's break 100 ". Not being sore about it but thats my honest opinion. If LH gets the chance to I believe they will try and score as many points late into the 4th as possible. I think we will put up a fight for a qaurter, maybe a half but then it will more then likely get out of hand. Not trying to cut down our team or anything But I just dont think they will have enough this year. But we shall see.

True TexanAlum...I expect a good ole' fashion thumping by LH next week. But this is what builds character for the next 2 years as our young team matures. We might be able to keep it competitive (maybe) if the game was here in Wimberley, but not in their house. They are just way too powerful for us this year (and probably next year too).

As far as Vance running up the score and keeping starters in and not playing some players even if the score is embarrassingly lopsided....well.....of course he will. It's his M.O. The entire state knows it. He's that kind of person.

But this behavior doesnt come without risk...I predict sometime, somewhere this year, this will come back to haunt him. Unfortunately it might be a starter who will lose the rest of the season in a game decided a couple of quarters beforehand. For the kids sake, I hope this doesnt happen.

LE was penalized 12 times for 79 yards, Wimberly 6 times for 59. You're whining. Stop. Good game on both sides. Dukes plays QB and full-time defense, so it's good to see James put to use at QB, too. LE's coming along. Told you guys it would be pretty diff this year.
