A standoff is underway at the Central Texas Workforce Commission in Killeen located along Jasper Drive.


KILLEEN - A standoff is underway at the Central Texas Workforce Commission in Killeen located along Jasper Drive.

Killeen police tell News Channel 25 that the suspect was walking in the area, police approached him and he started to run. They later found out that he was wanted on a parole violation on a charge of burglary. He ran inside the Texas Workforce Commission and has barricaded himself inside the building.

There has been no official confirmation if he has a gun or not, or if there are hostages involved in this standoff. Employees were evacuated from the building.

Two nearby schools in the area have been placed on lock down for security purposes. They are: Nolan Middle School located on East Jasper Drive and Bellaire Elementary School located along West Jasper Drive.

Jasper drive has also been closed.
