No, no other team in 5a got to play that game.

If it does hurt them its really stupid!

It should. Humbling experience.

It should hurt them. Honestly I'd have rather seen Desoto out there representing Texas tonight. They appear to be the best team in 5A at this point in the season and it would've made for a better game.

I think the loss tonight is going to make all the other teams in 5a step it up a notch.

it does kind of weaken the invulnerability factor

Any time a rich, snotty school loses to an out-of-state team, I think it's good enough

No, I'm more than content with my earnings, but that school's attitude and the way that Craig Way kisses up to them gets old. If it weren't for Highland Park, Westlake and Southlake Carroll, he'd have little reason to get up in the morning.

I honestly don't care if it affects their ranking or not. I don't think there's anything in the "code of AP sports writers" that says a loss doesn't count as a loss, regardless of whether it's to an in-state or out-of-state opponent. So, IMHO, I'm not certain they should be # 1. If they are......so what?

Would you be as aloof about it if someone else said they should fall in the rankings.

It makes me no difference what rankings schools have, particularly 5A schools.

Ok, honest answer. I can accept that.

the rankings mean diddly squat. When you consider they come from a bunch of over weight, graying writers who havent seen about 75% of the schools they are voting for play they dont mean much at all. But thats just my opinion.

Once again
who is ranked at the END of the season matters
not in September

if not who should be ranked ahead of them?

I'd have Desoto there. I thought they had a good chance to be this years Cedar Hill coming into the season. I don't recall too many teams that can put 47 on Garland's defense (Allen only managed 21 the opening week) and then turn around and throw 66 on the board against Lee.

They should be #1. They lost by 8 to the #1 team in the nation according to ESPN. If it was a blow out then no they shouldn't.

Could be. Cyrus Gray (along with a few others on that team) is on par speed and talent-wise with what SLC saw from the Bulls last night. Right now I'd take Desoto by about 8-10 points if they played SLC.
