I remember that first rockdale game we lost 21-20 that really stung cause i was confident we would pull out that game. At the beginning of the year I thought Rockdale would finish 2nd behind Liberty Hill in district. Not so sure about that now, but alot of football to be played

They are switching QB's as much as they do the batter at a chicken shack. One can not get in the groove and can't gain confidence because of being pulled after one little mistake.

Well I hope Rockdale can figure things out in the next couple weeks. Looking forward to a good game between yall this year. I still think yall can make the playoffs, after all we are in a 5 team district.

I know this is not an excuse, but I didnt know Rockdale was missing 12 guys. That is insane.

(ROCKDALE)--THE ROCKDALE TIGERS TRAVEL TO MADISONVILLE

TO SQUARE OFF AGAINST THE MUSTANGS TONIGHT. THE TIGERS

HAD ONE OF THEIR MOST MEMORABLE GAMES IN RECENT MEMORY

LAST YEAR WHEN THEY FACED THE MUSTANGS, SCORING

20 POINTS IN THE 4TH QUARTER IN A FIERCE COMEBACK, AND PUTTING

TOGETHER A 98 YARD TOUCHDOWN DRIVE IN THE CLOSING MOMENTS

TO CLOSE THE GAP, BUT THE TIGERS FELL SHORT 21 TO 20.

THIS YEAR, THE TIGERS ARE OFF TO AN 0-2 START AND

HAVE STRUGGLED EARLY. TIGER HEAD COACH JEFF MILLER SAYS

INJURIES HAVE PLAYED A ROLE IN THE TIGERS EARLY TROUBLES...

"THE THING THAT WE'VE GOT TO REMEMBER...WE'RE PLAYING

TEAMS THAT ARE EXTREMELY EXPLOSIVE, AND VERY TALENTED

FOOTBALL TEAMS. AND WE'RE DOING IT RIGHT NOW REALLY PRETTY

SHORT HANDED. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE 24 OF OUR 36 GUYS ON THE

ROSTER TONIGHT THAT ARE GOING TO SUIT UP AND BE COMPLETELY

HEALTHY. NOW, WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A FEW MORE THAN THAT

ACTUALLY PLAYING."

MUSTANG RUNNING BACK CHRIS WHALEY RAN FOR

OVER 300 YARDS AGAINST THE TIGERS A YEAR AGO, AND HE'S BACK

AGAIN THIS SEASON. MILLER ALSO SAYS WITH ALL THE INJURIES,

YOUNG PLAYERS WILL HAVE TO STEP UP TO FILL THE VOID, ESPECIALLY

ON DEFENSE...

WE'VE GOT SOME KIDS THAT HAVEN'T PLAYED NOW, LITERALLY

HAVEN'T PLAYED MUCH AT ALL AT CERTAIN POSITIONS, THAT ARE

GOING TO HAVE TO PLAY A WHOLE LOT TONIGHT. WE REALLY

ARE GOING TO BE ASKING A LOT OUT OF KIDS THAT WE HADN'T

ASKED OUT OF THEM EVER, AND THEN DOING THAT AGAINST ONE OF

THE PREMIERE RUNNING BACKS IN THE STATE OF TEXAS."

THE TIGERS FACE THE MADISONVILLE MUSTANGS TONIGHT.

Well that's always good to give up because your team isn't winning enough to deserve your support.

Burnet, I bet you still support the Dogs as much now as you had in the past? A fan is a fan regardless. Go Blue will get that one of these days.

I support Burnet because that's where I'm orginally from.

BIG BLUE DEFENSIVE END

There are a lot of disappointed young men in Rockdale right now. I'm personally sick and tired of people telling those boys that they can't or they're not good enough or they'll be lucky to win one game this year. I've went and watched them play once this year, and those boys have a lot of fight in them. They all played hard until the last down of the game. Champions aren't always measured in wins and losses, but in my opinion the way they face adversity and the way they carry themselves even in defeat. Keep your heads up boys, don't let it get you down, and relish in every moment and in every opportunity that you have, because success is possible and is determined by you. I'm proud of you guys, keep playing hard and be proud of your actions.

Yes
I told the kids Friday in class the Dogs would win this week
The Marlin Bulldogs vs Sweetwater
and the Burnet Bulldogs vs Brownwood
Burnet lost I hear
But I will always be a Bulldog
we went 29-11 my years
didnt make playoffs
lost by one game 3 of those years

I will always be a Dog
I played as a Dog
I graduated a Dog
I live as a Dog
and I will die as a Dog

win or lose
We have done ok
but we have had down years too
Just like my Rams
same as a Dog
I will die a Ram

win or lose

I treasure my high school playing days
more than college
I love both
but HS was/is special
