When is this expected come in? ... that doesn't look to be coming in to Corpus, does it? We have a game to played in CC on Friday. If is not near the Coast of PI - would they move it there?

Corpus will get some rain...but nothing to worry about. Even if this storm hit Corpus directly...you would be looking at a lot of rain but not too much damage as the winds are only gusting to 50 mph right now.

abc 13 said they r expecting it to hit around brazoria area so cc will be lucky realy to get any rain from it.....most of the rain will be in southeast texas and west louisiana

There are people in my office at work saying it could be a repeat of Allison.

this thing changes each hour. at 7am this morning the chances of rain were 70% today- 80 % thurs. and friday- and 60% sat. that could have put us in an allison situation. we are still in mother natures hands. and as we know, she is in control.

I could see Ed Brandon doing his best to try and scare you into believing this is just like Allison - stay tuned and watch the news 24/7!

stay up all night anyway and knock it out. Then you can look at it in the morning and correct all the hastily put together mistakes that happen when you rush through things.

we're about to get pounded -- at 12:30 or 1:00am, we will have Hurricane Humberto, and it's going to be hitting the areas of SETX (ie: Bridge City, West Orange, Port Arthur, Beaumont, etc) places that don't need another storm! This thing has gone from nothing this morning to what is going to be a 75-80mph hurricane here in the next few minutes.. Simply amazing..

At 2AM we're getting hit hard!! Humberto now a Hurricane.

Looks like the eye of the storm is directly covering Orange county as of 5am.... we barely got a sprinkle here in Houston....

Man.... it had been 50 years since Orange had gotten a direct hit from the eye of a hurricane (1957) until Rita and now twice in 3 years.

I can still text message my parents surprisingly... they say it's absolutely awful right now. Their radio is reporting 100 mph gusts in Orange....

All Schools in Jefferson and Orange Counties are closed - there are over 75 thousand people without power due to sustained winds of over 60mph gusting to 85-95mph.

for 3ADL, we're very lucky to have moved the server last month -- Otherwise, the server would be down for quite a good length of time, and since there was no time for preparation for anyone in SETX, there would have been no chance for me to move the server like we did before for Rita.

They're saying that power may not be restored to everyone until Monday or Tuesday next week. The NHC had this to say about Humberto:

"BASED ON OPERATIONAL ESTIMATES...HUMBERTO STRENGTHENED FROM A 30 KT
DEPRESSION AT 15Z YESTERDAY TO A 75 KT HURRICANE AT 09Z THIS
MORNING...AN INCREASE OF 45 KT IN 18 HOURS. TO PUT THIS
DEVELOPMENT IN PERSPECTIVE...NO TROPICAL CYCLONE IN THE HISTORICAL
RECORD HAS EVER REACHED THIS INTENSITY AT A FASTER RATE NEAR
LANDFALL. IT WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW...SOMEDAY...WHY THIS HAPPENED."

Adidas410s

Imagine if this one had started developing down near South Padre. At the rate it was strengthening...it could have been VERY bad.
