On September 4, 2004, the attendance record was set at Gerald J. Ford Stadium when 34,495 people watched the Texas Tech Red Raiders face off against the SMU Mustangs. Say bye to that record Saturday!

Remember that the stadium is named after a banker who provided the funds to build this stadium. It is not named for the late President Gerald R. Ford.

Cliff Claven is alive and well on the Downlow. I think of that every time I see one of Phil's posts.

I think it's over 23k, but not near 30k. Not many people have ESPNU so that won't take as many people away like FSN would if it was on that channel. Plus it's on saturday and the next biggest matchup is all the way in Odessa.

Not so much...I'd say Wichita Falls Rider-Stephenville is pretty big too...and Plano East-Garland right down the street won't be a bad game either.....

That isn't gonna pull fans away though except for those who regularly go for those teams.

True, but I think a lot of fans who would normally attend the SLC-Miami game will be attending their own games...
