The magic number is 7. That's how many games Texas is behind ND for the #2 spot in all-time wins in College Football.

Don't know that we can get it this year, but it will be fun to see it happen!

Michigan.

Of course we must consider Michigan has played football since 1879 while Texas didn't start until 1893. :)

Hey Sweetwater Red how many all time wins does Michigan have. I think it is around 840 but I may be wrong.

Maybe someone could post a link to the break down of wins per team.....

Michigan started playing football 14 years before UT and has
only played twenty more games?

That just doesn't seem to add up.

Looks good to me Darren. I think it is after the 2006 Season. Texas is still behind Nebraska as well ad ND and Michigan.
Good investigative work Darren!

With the way things are going at ND this year, (and they are pretty young) Texas has a very good chance of catching them by early next year. Like you said, sure is going to be fun to watch.

Darren--that's not accurate. We passed Nebraska in 2005, I believe.

I'll try to find you an updated list.

Thanks.

I tried to look for another website that showed all of the colleges and their all time win loss record. But alas this is all I could come up with.

The Longhorns website has 807 wins for Texas updated as of 09-08-07.

Here is the link.

I did notice a couple of teams that they have played a long long time ago that I thought were funny.

Like Camp Mabry Auto School in 1918 or they played Galveston High 3 times starting in 1895.

Interesting..........
