Tropical depression forms

The ninth tropical depression of the hurricane season has formed east of Victoria and could threaten the Upper Texas Coast as a tropical storm later today.
A tropical storm warning was hoisted Wednesday morning from Port O’Connor to Cameron, La. A warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected in the warned area within 24 hours. The depression was moving north at 6 mph and this motion is expected to continue for the next 24 hours.
Rainfall amounts of 5 to 10 inches are expected along the Middle and Upper Texas Coast.
