Generally the team that wins the NFL Super Bowl wins its' first game of the season. But please keep in mind there have been several times that there were exceptions and who knows if this year wil be one of them?
Based on last the first weekend results the following teams are eliminated from winning the next Super Bowl.

New Orleans, Bufalo, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Jacksonville, Atlanta, NY Jets, St. Louis, Miami, Oakland, Chicago, NY Giants, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, and Arizona.

Even though bad news for Arizona there is some good news in that Matt Leinart is going to be a great QB for them in the future. They got him as a steal in the draft not only because of getting a great player but the price. However, come contract negociation time they will need to come up with some big money to keep him. Some teams that passed over him made a big mistake.

Some good news for us is that our three favorite teams (Dallas, Tennessee, and Houston) are still in the running based on the results.

Detroit won too but unfortunately they still have one more year (this year) of the Curse but after this year look out. Technically it ends in October of next year but that will be before the playoffs which is good news indeed for the Lions and there fans.

Adrian Peterson looked very good and it looks like he will have an outstanding NFL career.

Vince and Tennessee are doing good. Great job Vince.

I heard the numbers yesterday, and I wish I could remember the stats, but something like less than 30% of teams who lose in week one even make the playoffs, and there have only been a small handful of teams who ever won the Super Bowl after losing in week one.

Faced one of the better defenses (Secondary in particular) in the league last night on the road. He didn't play great, but the caliber of the defense had something to do with that. Whisenhunt and Grimm already have their line playing markedly better than they did when Green was there.

over the last 5 years...half of the teams making the playoffs didn't make it the previous year and 4 of the last 8 super bowl winners missed the playoffs the year before. Long and short...week 1 tells us little to nothing. It the teams that start 0-2 and/or 0-3 that really give us good indications of their season.
