WEEK 0 ARMY STRONG TEAMS OF THE WEEK
Class 5A: El Paso Montwood (defeated Las Cruces Mayfield, 28-18)
The two-time defending champ in New Mexico, Las Cruces had its 28-game win streak snapped by Montwood.
Class 4A: Kerrville Tivy (defeated Converse Judson 40-21)
After not scoring a point in a 38-0 loss last year, Tivy got revenge with a win at home over a 5A opponent.
Class 3A: Snyder (defeated Hereford 50-49)
Trailing 21 points to a 4A team in the 3rd quarter , Snyder scored twice in the final two minutes to pull off the win.
Class 2A: Edna (defeated East Bernard 27-10)
Edna avenged a loss to East Bernard, which had won by four TDs the year before.
Class 1A: Gruver (defeated Wheeler 22-21)
Playing on the road for the opponent's homecoming, Gruver blocked an extra point in the final minutes to preserve the win.
