My son has acquired the gloves worn by E.J. Shankle of A&M from the Fresno State game the other day.

Question is:

Should he wear them in his games?

Sure...what good will they do if he doesn't wear them?

no...you don't play baseball with your autographed balls...if you're lucky enough to get something from a player, keep it as memorabilia, unless he's just not really a fan of the player or team.

I concur. Plus, they would have a hint of burnt orange color somewhere (for UT) to match his HS football uniform (Hutto)!!!

Wear them. If they were Stephen McGee or someone that was actually good then you hang them on the wall or something. But it's E.J. Shankle

Why wouldn't t.u. fans have heard of him?

He was also offered by Mack and still chose A&M. He was the #12 rated all-purpose back nationally coming out of h.s. as rated by Rivals.com

Played in eight games as a true Freshman and caught a pass in the Holiday Bowl.

He is a Sophomore. When Fran discovers the forward pass, he might get some better numbers.

I tried to not have this deteriorate into an A&M - t.u. matter.

obviously a good player - still never heard of him ... and this is not an aTm-UT matter but it seems you are trying to make it so ...

of course don't wear em...theres no need to...you don't need gloves to catch the ball...you're either gonna catch it or your not gloves won't make that big of a difference...now if what was gonna be cold then that might be another story

i don't think so...i never wore them and i caught the ball just fine...if it was a lil wet you just had to concentrate more...and the one season i wore them (my hands developed a weird allergy to the grass and the skin started peeling off of my fingers and palms) it always got on my nerves...cuz i just didn't have the feel of the ball that i was used to

He already has a nice pair of 'Nike Magnigrip' gloves that he wears.

It was just the thought of actually wearing ones that were used in a college game.

Plus he has always liked the 'Cutter' gloves for some reason.

That "famous" photo shows how Aggies just can`t count. The pic looks like it says 9, 10, 10 (again) 11...............lol
