3A Downlow Members Top 25

Okay, folks, give some feedback. In order to have a "true" members' poll, you should get it what you want to see.
IMO, options 1 and 3 seem to be the best with the least room for error. But, anyone who's interested in seeing this take place, PLEASE post what YOU want to see. And if anyone has another idea, please post that as well.


Option 1: Rankings similar to AP (http://bbs.3adownlow.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=69994)
(Pro: true representation based on rankings submitted. Con: some may not feel knowledgeable enough to submit or may not want their rankings public.)

Option 2: Predetermined teams (30-40) with poll (http://bbs.3adownlow.com/vb/showthread.php?threadid=70013)
(Pro: knowledge of all teams in the state is not required. Cons: reading directions :p and from the example, too many teams with the same number of votes.)

Option 3: Pretermined teams (30-40) with a separate poll for each individual team for ranking positions.
(Pro: true representation based on a vote for each individual team. Con: 30-40 threads that should stay active for a day or two.)

Option 4: Find 2 or 3 from each region to think of a top 25 and go by their rankings. (Pro: each region is represented equally. Con: reflects the rankings of only a few.)

I would prefer this ranking system #1 because it is what we already see and most will understand it's premise. And for those who feel they do not have enough knowledge, the ap writers may not have much more than you on some teams and areas. But you can snoop around , look at scores and other peoples polls and com e up with one that is not bad or may be spot on. You will find that if enough votes are placed a poll will come out that is relatively accurate. And since we here tend to follow a wider range of teams than a lot of ap writers we might even be more accurate.

In my opinion, anything other than Option #1 will result in a watered-down poll that won't be much different than the AP poll.

The whole point would be to reflect what the 3A Down-Lowers think. Heck, we might even become the TRUE benchmark for Texas 3A football!
