I know it still may not be perfect and maybe it could be improved but thank goodness we have the current playoff system in high school football instead of like it was 25 years or so ago when only one team from each district could make the playoffs and not always were the selected teams decided on the field but there were coin flips or point differences, etc. For example if two great teams were from one district the winner was in and the loser out with no second chance. Also if a district was dominated by one or two teams it left all the others out in the cold but now even some of the teams that may not be as strong get a possible chance. For example, we may not have known what a great team Everman was this year but if the old system had been in effect they would have been out of the playoffs based on it's loss to Kennendale and that is just one example. And look at Bandera - a third place team in district that is now playing this week in Division 3A 2 State Championship game. Thank goodness for second chances for everyone.

Perfect example is 25-3A Bandera and Burnet both in the State Championship.
