KBTX had the score wrong, it was actually 31-18. No big deal of course.

If it weren't for Rockdale's QB (who has a BRIGHT future) and Caldwell's RB Xavier Canto (200 yards rushing with 3 TD of nearly 50 yards each), there would have been nearly no offense.

THose guys better stay healthy and do well academically.

Caldwell played lackodaisical in the final seven minutes and it nearly resembled the Bellville comeback loss last year.

The Hornets probably could have scored on their last drive (at least another field goal) but I don't blame the coach for killing the clock with just over a minute left near the 50 yard line.

161 yards in penalties will do that to you. Our secondary is going to have to cover someone or it's going to be a long year.

did I read that right? 161 yards in penalties?? Was it something they were continously doing or a combo of alot of things?

The writer for the Bryan Eagle got his lead paragraph all screwed up and misled readers into thinking that the total was all Caldwell penalties - or either the editor misunderstood a poorly-written story because Rockdale had more penalties than Caldwell. Each team had more than 80 yards in penalties.

A coach would have been fired on the spot had penalties been 160-plus. The story was pretty negatiive, but the guy who is a stringer writer for The Eagle is from none other than Hearne (Waggoner).

Regarding the secondary, I couldn't agree more. Aerial teams with decent run defenses while embarrass Caldwell if they don't remedy that like YESTERDAY!

Certainly not Caldwell's. Rockdale will make noise with him or maybe both of them in a year or two.

There's talk that the Caldwell coach plays one QB (who is good scrambler) when the backup is supposedly a better passer. Go figure...
