**By rule, you must have at least 4 players on either side of the ball when kicking off. No longer can load up one side.** -g$$

JONESBORO, Ark. -- Arkansas State coach Steve Roberts says he was told by the Big 12 Conference's supervisor of football officials that game officials wrongly overturned ASU's recovery of an onside kick in the final minute of the No. 7 Longhorns 21-13 victory on Saturday.

"We got a confirmation [Tuesday] that they missed the call," Roberts said.

The Indians were flagged with 56 seconds left in the game for an improper formation. Texas recovered a subsequent onside kick attempt and ran out the clock.

Roberts said the game film showed the Indians had enough players on both sides of the ball before the kick.

"There's nothing you can do about it now," Roberts said. "I don't have a reaction because a reaction's worthless."

The Big 12 Conference said officials coordinator Walt Anderson was not immediately available for comment Wednesday.

Maybe so...they blew it Sat. on the onsides kick. Ark State had the 4th player near the ball but still on the side w/ 3 others. Probably would not have mattered - they still had to score & get 2 pt. conversion - but sure would have been an interesting finish.

True...haven't seen any replays of the call so it evidently was overlooked by most...that or the media just doesn't care about Arkansas St.

Saw part of it & the last 4 minutes when Auburn won. What happened? K-State looked pretty solid.

K-State got called for a personal foul faskmask that was bogus (the official was on the other side of the guy and couldn't even see the guys facemask) and roughing the kicker when the kicker was never even touched.

Wow, life on the road (at Auburn) in the SEC I guess. K-State is a team to watch this year. Thanks for the info.

Welcome to a road game in the SEC!! The officials don't even protect the highest ranked teams in the country in our own conference play. Seems like we always get these guys from Lexington (UK) or Nashville (Vandy) -- cities where they know nothing about college football. I don't like officials from basketball cities calling big SEC games.

do you think officials should "protect the highest ranked teams in the country in our own conference play" ???
