My daughter got a laptop that is installed with Vista!

When she tried to install the software for my printer I have at home, it told her to pick her operating system from the list....and XP was as high as it went!

Does that mean that she can't install that printer on her laptop??

If she can, what option does she pick for her OS??

Thanks!!!!!

You prolly need to look at the web site for the printer manufacturer and see if they have any drivers you can download so the printer will work with xp.

I'm not a computer guru, but I would try that first.

how old is the printer?

She should be able to install it under XP, and if it doesn't work that way, she can go in and tell Vista to run the program under XP settings.

Go to the web site and look for an updated driver for your printer. It's possible the XP selection will work. Try the XP selection. If it doesn't work uninstall the driver and. Like I said earlier find a new one on the web.

He was suspended...I didn't know he said he wasn't coming back!!!

I know LOTS of others said they weren't....but I think they all did!!!

Anywho......I got the printer for Christmas!
