Dogs open up campaign at home vs. the Indians. Coach Z & staff will have Sweeny ready. Santa Fe lost a rain-shortened game last week vs. Needville.

Thoughts/predictions/scores?

Sweeny 24
Santa Fe 7

There is a buzz in the Bulldog locker room. The guys are really looking forward to this season. Although the secondary, more specifically the safeties, will be suspect, the dogs are really looking good defensively. Offensively, their success will be measured by how well the O-Line does, seeing how they only returned one starter. Not looking to much into the scrimmages but the second string quaterback was looking pretty good. Overall the Bulldogs are solid and should earn a playoff spot.

The O-line will come together & be fine. Coach Scarborough is an excellent teacher of technique & they will know who to block (that's 1/2 the battle right!). If he has some talent, & by most accounts he does, then they will be fine if they listen to him. I expect them to compete for a playoff spot too. Look for the RB to carry on the Bulldog tradition of tailbacks too. Defense should be stout as they return lots of kids. Kicking game is a big question mark right now I have been told. Never easy to replace a D1 kid like Tank Carder, but the train keeps moving. Look forward to seeing some games when home.

The offensive line will come along as they have many years when they were the question mark. The starting QB (Zajicek) looked very good and looks as though his shoulder has healed from last year. He was playing alot better competition and the back up looks like a capable replacement in a pinch. The secondary will get better as people get back in position such as Jammer from tailback and a tweak here and there.
