With the closing of the steel plant and causing such distress in the town and the way the town turned to football in a time of healing, I'm really shocked that didn't draw movie interest.

They probably could have beaten any team in any classification that year. What an incredible defense...

Agreed. This was sent to me this week via email.

Saw them dismantle a very good Sweeny team in the 1983 State Finals 42-0 in Waco. Only points scored all year on them were result of blocked punt & a safety. Could have played with anybody from any class, period. Lots of stud players, speed & size. They knew it too!

On a lighter side, how about the two rednecks at the first of the interview? I fell over in my chair laughing!

Yes mullets were in, & bad mustaches too. It was the '80s buddy!

Mullet = business in the front & party in the back...throw some lines on the side & it's a bad haircut!

I am to wook. It would have made a great movie. I wonder how many players had fathers that worked at the steel plant and how they had to struggle to make ends meet and make the games. It would have been a great movie.

Also I have always wondered why a movie about Freddie Steinmark was never done too.

From what I hear they had 11 college players including 3 D1 running backs and 5 players who played in the NFL. I know that doesnt sound possible but neither does this:
