NEED EXPLANATION...why is Region I champ playing Region IV champ in semis? In football it's always I vs II and III vs IV. It this the norm? Just wondering, can anyone explain?

It's all part of the DFW Conspiracy, but please don't tell anyone.

The two teams with the best records go into separate brackets, then UIL flips a coin to place the other two teams in the brackets. This is what I was told.

In all sports, except for football, the final 4 teams are seeded according to their records and the top seed plays the last seed.

For the Everman folks be sure to watch No. 42 (I think but you may want to double check your program) who is Tommy Blake. He is a good basketball player and a great football player and he will be playing his college football at TCU so this might be of extra interest to you. Of course you will be cheering against him this Thursday but in the fall you will be cheering for him because I think he is going to be outstanding at TCU.

No doubt Tommy Blake is the main man for AP...the keys for this one are...can Everman's big guys stay out of foul trouble against AP's deep rotation of post players...and can AP's guards handle the relentless pressure they'll get from Everman..if the game is fast paced it favors Everman who is quicker and deeper and overall more athletic..if the game is a half court game this favors AP and their bruising big guys..

As much as I'm pulling for AP in this one, Everman's got the advantage. I've got the Bulldogs in this one by a lot. But one way or the other, go Panthers.
