Quarterback Kyle Brunson exploded for 60 yards on three carries and running backs Bubba Richards and Darius Nesby added 129 more as Burnet opened the post-Bob Shipley coaching era by overrunning host Taylor.

The Bulldogs raced out to a 45-0 halftime lead after a game start delayed 90 minutes by rain and lightning. Taylor got on the board on Mark Jackson's 92-yard kickoff return to start the second half and Tristan Meyer later scored on a 54-yard run.

Taylor's 'D' last year wasn't that bad at all. They were especially good against the run.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the heavy losses to graduation...

Burnet had six straight drives that started inside the Taylor 30 yard line. The Dawgs capitalized on all 6 drives. Taylor didn't offer much Friday. I'll know more about our team after this Friday's game against Liberty Hill. The Panthers will be the favorite in this rivalry game for the first time in many years, and rightly so. If the Dawgs can hang with the Panthers, then we should be a fairly salty team by season's end. I'm hoping for a barn burner Friday...

Taylor was not good vs. the run last year....Cameron rushed for over 350 yards against them
