Caldwell vs. Elgin
La Grange vs. Lockhart
Brookshire vs. Hempstead

Brookshire vs. Hempstead A lightning siege forced cancellation of the season opener between visiting Lockhart and La Grange. Since the teams do not have a common open date for the balance of the season, the game will not be rescheduled.

Caldwell didn't play either thanks to beloved Mother Nature and a lightning and flood at 7:28 pm as everyone was getting situated in Elgin's stadium. Then, of course, the trusty transformer (at the new stadium) blew out and they damn near had to force an evacuation.

At least now Caldwell can battle it out with arch-rival SMITHVILLE!

Brookshire vs. Hempstead is now the only game unaccounted for. Does anyone know if it was actually played last night? It's odd that a school 15 miles outside the Houston city limits gets absolutely no coverage in the Houston press.
