The NFL has decided to replace its logo with a new one starting in 2008...the differences are less than stellar to me.

I wonder if there is any significance to the number of stars on
either one.

apparently, there wasn't any significance on the old logo.

The new logo represents the 8 divisions in the NFL.

anybody have a USA Today? I heard that they did research on the logo and couldn't find any reason that it ever had 25 stars.

I just read on a report from a different newspaper that the new football is designed to be at the same angle have the same appearance as the one on top of the Lombardi trophy.
