1987 Sweetwater ranked number 1 in Class 4-A goes to Monahans for big game the District Championship great game
these to schools used to battle it out.
But Kenneth Norman was the diffrence showed the state why they were the top ranked team Monahans had a grreat defense
and this Norman would still pill us big yards impressive runs
he was like a brick wall he was so strong and so quick then
there was a great run of Normans after him seemed like every
year the had a Norman good luck to this young kid.

they have talent returning...but not so sure if that talent is in the RB position...QB with Thomas Holsey definately and a WR KEKE Wallace are ppl to look for on offense...defense they have Rufus McCann, Steven Fields, JJ McCoy, Brandon Bugaron.....all young but considerable players on the defensive side of the ball

I played with Larry Healy and Durl Rather (among others) in Jr High at Sweetwater, before moving back to RC. They were on that Varsity roster that won state in 85 or 86 I think, they were Sophs.? Another guy I remember playing with is Billy Wooten, big guy. Durl was big and fast. Larry was good technique wise and big as well.

Brandon is not playing football. He made a tough decision....he decided to take care of his body and not chance hurting more than he already does.

It was a tough deision, but IMO a wise one.

that's Larry Healer - his dad was the anchorman for one of the Abilene TV stations. He was a pretty good guy. Billy Wooten was insane and also a really good guy. I believe Billy is a probation officer now. Durl walked on at Tech and played a little bit. Again, a really good guy. That was a really good class of stand up guys - c/o 88. '89 wasn't too shabby either. '90 was quite a collection of misfits and n'er do wells

I think Breck is to thin up front to compliment that qb. Clyde? They are a bit down from last year and even if they werent. Sweetwater owns Clyde. Wont happen. Sweetwater will make the playoffs, hide and watch.

You know how there are people that you don't like much...and then all the sudden they marry into your family and you found out the rumors about them weren't quite true and they aren't so bad after all???

That's how I felt when Snyder joined the 3-3A family!!!

Maybe after the next re-alignment Sweetwater, Greenwood,
Wylie and Snyder can all be family together.

Methinks my Bulldogs will be 4a next yearthey are renovating the school like crazy. They need to put some more money back into the Dog House though...

If that district really does happen though you better believe that's gonna be the most exciting district to watch.

p.s. S'water really does own Clyde, they will make the playoffs again...Gotta go with Breck as the third playoff team. Wylie's a given  you can send the homer responses to that now :D
