I hear that Johnny Depp is going to star as Barnabas Collins and that he said he was obsessed with the TV series as a kid in the late 60s and early 70s and prentended to be a vampire. Strange, yea, but the show rocked.

Dude that was my FAVORITE soap opera. I try and watch re runs when I can. Alas, we are aging ourselves.:)

I have to wonder how Depp will pull off violent scenes. No doubt they'll pack on the eyeliner once again. Is that crap tatooed on him now?

A lot of people don't know this, but that show is where Kate Jackson got her start.

I loved that show growing up. I even liked the remake they did in the 90's.

I really liked the show. OH barney baby, never knew when he would strike, or who. the background music was so nerve racking, would make the hair stand on edge. and that fog.

I do remember watching that show many years ago!!! Does anyone know what year or years that was being aired???

1966 - 1971 I only remember the reruns in the mid-70's, but it was really eerie. It was always a dreary, foggy day in Collinwood, according to narrator and character, Victoria Winters. :-)

The music was sooo cool. And they invariably had someone wondering toward the "cliff" and trying to fall off in the ocean.

There was a movie made of Dark Shadows...it was scary!!
