Should have retired Roger, but your ego got in the way again. For a guy making about $140,000 per inning on his pro-rated $28 million contract, these #s are not good. Just a mediocre, overweight, overpaid pitcher at this point in his illustrious career.

Record: 5-5 w/ 4.34 ERA

60 Ks in 83 IP

Clemens pitches tonight vs. Boston (6:00PM ESPN2) at Yankee Stadium. He will probably pitch well tonight in a big game, but overall he has been mediocre. Should have hung it up as Father Time has caught up with him.

Message says you must go thru administrator now after 15 minutes. Right? Think they changed it.

His wife tried to make him stay retired, but they had a drop call when he called from the golf course

He threw a pretty good game last night by anyones standards. Against a tough team with a lot riding on it. That being said I wish he were an Astro along with Pettite.

happened a while back...apparently Emerson realized that if you were banned from a thread, you could still go back and edit your old posts in that thread to stay active...so they changed it so that you can no longer edit posts after 15 minutes.

Like I thought above, Roger stepped up in a big game last night. He got some breaks too as his stuff was just ok again (he gave up 6 earned runs last start). Velocity is down & command is wavering. Father Time has arrived. He walked 5 & hit one batter, not typical Clemens at all. Give him credit for gutting it out.

Overall though, now 6-5 w/ a 4.00+ ERA & not earning that kind of $$. Pro-rated $28 million is absurd for anyone, much less a mid-40s pitcher that might go 6 innings. Take your big ego & retire Roger! Pettitte has pitched well & his ERA is down as well. Astros made mistakes, but not signing these two guys was very understandable IMO for the $$ & health risks.

best thing that could happen is the Yankees miss the playoffs when Roger blows a big game late in the season. I think that might wake him up and we can stop all of this "is he coming back? which team will get him" crap every midseason.

Agreed. That would be sweet!
