Good luck Sinton!

Indeed ;)

Cuero is still favored, but they lost a bunch to graduation - not that that ever seems to slow them down.

Our guys are a good mix of youth & experience and heck, they are just ready to play!!

Good Luck Pirates!!

Last years game was my first ever M&G. I won't be able to make the game on Friday because of work so good luck to both teams. To my Sinton friends travelling to the game, be safe and have fun. To the Cuero folk, sorry I missed the chance to meet you guys again. GO PIRATES!!! :)

We have a new coach, new system to learn, new QB taking snaps and taken the last few meetings & the scores, I don't blame them. *sigh*

I will call the shutout.....
Cuero 26
Sinton 0
(two missed extra points- as always early in the season)

No matter what people may think, Cuero will have speed all over the defense this year, much more than years past. That will keep them in games this year, the offense may be sluggish early in the year with the passing, but the run will be the emphasis early on.

99% sure the qb is the soph. Arndt. The other young man in the running is most likely going to take the backup and play a little receiver.

Sinton hasn't scored since the 4th quarter of 2004 meeting in Cuero where the Gobblers won 35-28. I think its been 12 quarters. Sinton was shutout in the 04 regionals, they didn't play in 05 thanks to Rita, and in 06 they were shutout out twice, once in predistrict and then again in the first round of the playoffs.

2004 game was one of the most exciting games of recent years, the game was all but in the bag until sinton came storming back, I think it was 28-7 in the third quarter.

Well I have always been cautious and have predicted times Sinton would win by 7 and they won by 40 and one of the Sinton bosters questioned if I had confidence in our boys. I just didn't want them to be overconfident but since the GodFather was questioned I will predict.

Sinton 36 Cuero 16.

How about that Sinton Boster who once questioned the GodFather?

Go Pirates!

Guess coach figured he would be better used else where. I think he was running some and playing safety. The QB (Harrison) is 6'5" and has a good arm and vision. Just needs some time to throw.

Taft gave them fits in a scrimage. OL needs to learn some blocking techs. Quick.

Cuero needed a game like this to begin the season .The Soph. QB showed poise and has a great arm but needs to get the timing down with his WR'S on the long routes just a little to much arm on a few throws or the score could have been worse. What a stable of running back's we have ...WOW. Our third a fourth team rb's could start for a lot of teams .

I dont think Sinton and Cuero will renew this pre district game in the upcoming years ...just my oppinion :D

Jeez that was painful. I was a bad fan and left when the score was 33-0. I had been on the road since 11 a.m. and didn't feel the need to stick around.

Cuero is Cuero. It isn't even fair that they just slide in the new kids when their playmakers graduate. :dispntd:

On the drive home I was trying to remember when the last time Sinton won their season opener, if my memory serves me well, it was way back in 2002. Jeez.

I don't know whether or not we'll renew this series next realignment, but it won't be b/c we are afraid to play yall. :hand:

I don't know why CueroDad likes to go on & on like we (Sinton) are talking like we are gonna beat Cuero.

Good game Gobblers. Good Luck the rest of the season.

As for my Pirates - pull up your pants, dust yourselfs off and get ready for the kitty kats who will be pissed after letting one get away to the Mustangs. WOW :D

Good to see '44, OG & GG & his wife!!! :) I realized as I was stuck behind a train that I didn't even know if we were suppose to meet at halftime for more folks to sign the flag. :o Oops. LHPM will have it at the Cuero/LH game so those that missed out can sign it there.

it's not worth trying to argue with some folks CueroDad - the majority of the boys on the team are 3rd generation Gobblers - Our QB's uncle was on the team in 1975 when we lost to Ennis in the State game and ironically, he was playing with Quincey's dad. Yea - we use lot's of "move ins"....... I am through with this subject - the majority of the Pirate fans are good folks and don't make excuses, so why let the few that do get to me. I hope everyone from Sinton got home safely.

Yep, pay no attention to them. Same kinda crap was said about us 2000-2003. Sinton folks should know better, most of them do.
Congrats, Gobblers.

It Was A Joke! Get Over It!

You Cuero folks need to lighten up a bit. We used to get people accusing us of bringing kids in all the time. That didn't make it true!

I have a good friend that grew up in Cuero and wants to bet me on the game every year. Is he crazy????

There might be one or two people on here that know who I am by name, but don't know the person I am. So stop trying to read more into my comments then what is there. And I think 66 called it crap. There is alot more info on this web site that I would call crap.

I was just hoping for a good game. It is hard to watch your team put forth the best effort they can and still struggle. I too don't think these two teams will meet again for a while. Just like Sinton probably won't be playing the three 4A teams after this year either.

I will however support them as best I can. And next Friday when I am sitting in the stands with my cousin from Gregory Portland I will be giving him a hard time about bringing in kids from Corpus!

Oh, and when my boys are old enough to play and thier team spanks another team, I will be proud just like CueroDad is. He has done nothing wrong but support his family and team.

On a side note... Taft spanked Sinton in a scrimmage. From my point of view. And when my uncles played ball for Taft many, many, many years ago I think Taft won 80 something to 0. Now that is useless information

Have a great weekend!
