The season sounds encouraging based on what the Bryan-CS Eagle posted about team scrimmages.

TEAM: Caldwell
OPPONENT: Taylor

HOW IT WENT: Quarterback Scott Ofczarzak rushed for over 100 yards to lead the Hornets to a 5-1 touchdown advantage Thursday.
"Xavier [Canto, running back] played well and Scott had a great night," Caldwell coach Dale Williams said. "We made a couple of big plays on defense but we're still finding out about our secondary and have a lot to work on now."

---------------

Here's the link that gives a rundown of Brazos Valley teams, which also suggests Navasota and Cameron are fairly evenly matched (two TD's each). Brenham reportedly had its way with RR Westwood (4-1) and Hearne scored four times on Rosebud-Lott and didn't surrender a score.

Giddings transfer Cassius Bradley played with the second team. He has potential and I think the coach is holding him back for now til UIL gives the go-ahead, but they say Lister (another RB) averaged six yards a carry as well. Then there's Sims. I think the one thing they'll need to find is a some good receivers and the league title won't be out of the question. That's a long way off of course.
