Fans attending Saturday's football scrimmage between Amarillo River Road and Childress not only will support their teams, they will help Texas high school coaches and athletes with special needs.
Proceeds from admission fees charged at the 10 a.m. scrimmage at River Road will go to the Texas High School Coaches Assocation's Benevolence Fund. To date, 130 schools have participated in these Our Day to Shine events, and more than $45,000 has been raised.
Recently, funds also were used to make a donation to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund.
