My best guess would be Waco Connally @ LH ~~ the fight for seats on the visitor side if our home stands aren't complete.

Wimberley vs Giddings at Texan Stadium could be a good one. we will see just how good our defense will be from the get-go!

I'll be at Barry Field watching the Owls play the Holy Cross Knights. The Knights are a Tapps school. I wish the Owls would go back to playing LaVernia the first game. Would certainly be better competition.

I'll enjoy another Trojans-Golden Bears game to open up the season. I'm excited to get to see all these new players Madison is going to have out there this season that should make them more athletic than they were last year.

Hopefully this will be win number 4 in a row against them! SOC gets to be the heavy favorite again like they were in 2004 and 2005. Madison, however, does play better against SOC when they are the underdog.

My guess here is not as good. :) I think Robinson is probably the 3rd place team in their district this time around. So hard to replace a guy like Kitchens. He sure as heck tortured Gatesville and many others in that area for 3 years! I know Texas Football has them picked 1st, but I'm thinking China wins it this season and LaVega and the Rockets play for the next two spots.

You better throw the jacket in also to be on the safe side. you just never know about the weather out here. Its better to be prepaired for the hot or the freezing.

The zero week game weather last season was nice. I just wore shorts......(Monahans/Snyder were getting blasted with rain in Midland the same night).

When we played Graham in the playoffs, it was COLD! StangGirl2007 was sitting with me, wearing flip-flops....she bout froze her toes off!!!!

As much as I want to say we will prevail, I just dont think we will have enough. Wimberley=REALLY YOUNG & INEXPERIENCED Giddings= REALLY EXPERIENCED and a Great QB( I dont care for his attitude) but he is good at what he does. this will be a very good game for wimberley to learn and grow up in a hurry cuz the season doesnt get much easier with games on the road with Texarkana LE @LH and on the road at Abilene Wylie. I think they will finish strong by the end of the season, but they will have some growing pains along the way. Wimberley will fight hard, but I classify this game as a "Get Better" game. I think the only way we have a chance is if Giddings comes in with their heads in the clouds and reading their hype in the newspaper and totally underestimates wimberley. I do believe we will have a better defensive gameplan for Brock and the O this year, but this time we just wont have the experience and talent to stop it. But we are hard to beat at home so we shall see! I will have to take off work early to make it to this one.

That remains to be seen. The 2 RB's return, but the starting QB will be a sophomore. The O-line will be in good shape and have size.

The wildcard is obviously the QB. He will be the first QB that has been brought up in "the system". I can tell you this much so far, he has speed and elusiveness that matches Kitchens. He can also throw the ball well and will have experienced receivers that are speedy, but not tall.

Experience usually counts heavily and this will be Robinson's disadvantage at the QB position. We'll just have to see how the young man does under fire.

From what I've read, Celina returns quite a few. Personally, I just hope Robinson can keep it close.

I was told that Brownwood won their first scrimmage 12-4. Can't remember who it was against. Can anyone verify that or was it a rumor out of control?

Another web site has us picked by .02 points in our first game
against Wichita Falls High School. A match-up can't be much
better (closer) than that.:)

Not that it will draw huge statewide recognition, but the Caldwell at Elgin game might be interesting. Elgin just got Jasper's old coach, who is a good one, and the 4A Wildcats rebounded from the season opening 47-6 loss last season to finish 7-4 after putting up a good fight against Austin McCallum, which played Westlake tough.

Elgin will be out for Xavier Canto, no doubt, who embarrassed them last year in the one varsity game he played before ineligibility. Caldwell has 27 seniors who will need a "now or never" attitude because of rebuilding after this season.

The game will be a good gauge, at any rate.

I'm not 100% sure but I think their first scrimmage this year and last year was with a school around Denton who is only playing their second year of Varsity football this year. Last year was their first year to play. It was just as ugly last year too.
