Another "uh oh" moment!!

Last night my husband and I decided to go up to the school and look at our new field house.

There was no one up there and we were hoping we might could walk around and peek in some windows.

I had my granddaughter with me and just carried her from the parking lot. The old fieldhouse was completely demolished, only leaving the weight room (which is now an indoor practice field).

Anyway...when we got around to the back of the building I was checking the doors on each dressing room...when we got to the freshman dressing room door, to my surprise, it was unlocked!

I walked in and shut the door and Jimmy stood outside to make sure I could open it, I could, so he came in too. Boy...even the lowly freshman locker room is really nice.

We looked over the depth chart which was posted on the board and I opened another door that looked out into a hallway (remember, EVERYTHING has changed, so I didn't know where anything was). Jimmy came out behind me and the door shut...we heard a click!! Both of our eyes went wide, he checked the door....WE WERE LOCKED IN THE FREAKIN FIELD HOUSE!!!

I almost panicked, I immediately remember that Jimmy's phone was dead and I had left mine at home. Add to that, I had a baby that was about 10 minutes away from eating time and her bottle was in the truck sitting in the parking lot.

It was just getting dark and the light in there was fading FAST!! We were walking around in this huge building, that we knew NOTHING about, trying to decide if Ashton would start to worry about us after a couple of hours and come looking for us.

Finally we came to the end of a long dark hall with a door at the end (all of the others we tried were locked)....this one had a push bar on it and I crossed my fingers and said a little prayer...it OPENED!!!

We got out of there PRONTO...Kelissa started fussing as we were headed to the truck. We were about 20 feet from the truck when a sherrif's car turned into the parking lot. My heart stopped, I knew I was going to jail for trespassing.

She just drove by and looked at us and smiled.....Jimmy said it was only because we were carrying a baby...we just looked innocent!!

My question is.......Were we breaking the law??

on occasion....me and a few of the guys i played football with would "break into" the field house and watch old game film and laugh and have a good time. Never took anything....never hurt anything.....never went into the equipment room. It was fun to go and watch and laugh at some of the good plays and stupid plays we made.
