From the late 1930s and throughout most of the rest of the 1900s the major bowls were Rose, Sugar, Cotton and Orange.
The Horns have won at least one game in all four of these bowl games.

They have won many in the Cotton Bowl which includes the 1964 win over Navy 28 to 6 and the 1970 win over Notre Dame 21 to 17.

They have won once in the Sugar Bowl beating Alabama in 1948 by the score of 27 to 7.

Two Orange Bowl wins were the 1949 win over Georgia 41 to 28 and the 1965 win over No. 1 ranked Alabama 21 to 17. Joe Namath was the Bama QB and even though they lost he was the MVP.

We are familiar with their two Rose Bowl games beating Michigan in 2005 37 to 35 with a last play field goal and of course in 2006 over USC 41 to 38 for the National Championship. Vince Young was the MVP in both games.

Very few College Teams can say they have won in at least all four major bowls. Of course nowadays there are not really any major bowls.
