This little place south of Athens called the Burger Barn. It is the about the size of a walk-in closet, but the burgers are great.

I misspelled it. It's Herd"s and it was featured in Texas Monthly a couple of years ago. In DFW the best I've had is Country Burger in Plano

When I go to San Antonio, I like to go to Chester's Hamburgers.
They are good with the home cut fries.

If you live in Graham you have got to drive over to Jacksboro to Herds. They close at 4:00. Have for 80 years. They only serve burgers and canned cokes. No fries, no onion rings, no hotdogs or corndogs. No chili. What does that tell you about their burger that they could keep their business open for nearly a century with just burgers and soft drinks? Everyone I know just orders 2 burgers and a soda.

The Hill in Bellville. Voted best burgers in Austin Co. in 2005, 2006. and 2007. Right on hwy. 36 if anyone comes through. Four owners since the 1950's, and the burgers still taste the same. Also still do homemade onion rings.
