The company my wife works for had a 4 day retreat at Lake Tahoe last week. Man what a gorgeous place that is! We stayed at the Cal Neva resort, which is partly in Nevada, and partly in California. We had a dinner in the main dinning hall one night. The serving line was in Nevada but we ate in California.
The only downside was what I lost at the Casinos :( , and the $185 per round to play golf:eek: .
But the courses were incredible, and the views were postcard perfect from start to end. However, you did have to watch for bears. One ran right out in front of us on a tee box. I didnt know whether to run or crap.

Yea, our room wasnt anything special, but the veiw was awesome, and we didnt spend much time in there anyway. It is in a great location. Pretty much right in the middle of things.

Florida is one of the few places Ive always wanted to visit, but never have. Gotta make it down there someday! We do love the beach.

The good thing about this place, you dont have to be at the beach all the time. There is a huge mall, alot of restraunts, just alot of stuff to do!

Living in Central Texas this year is like living in Florida. Heat, humidity, and water everywhere. The only thing that is different is the sand and if you really want the Florida beach experience, go set up a lawn chair in the bunker of your choice at a local golf course.

The only difference is that in Florida, they have the biting flies that are awful.

If anyone goes to the beach at South Padre Island take some time to go see the Pelican West Band at their place just south of the Raddisson Hotel. They are open at 9 P.M. and are there Tuesday through Saturday. A great band indeed to be enjoyed along with the beach and great shopping places. Also good eating places there too.

Just got back from Cancun....here's a shot from our room. I would think this would come close to matching it.

Is that some type of shark barrier on the right hand side ? Ive been watching shark week on the Discovery channel ...which may not of been the smartest thing to do before my vacation .

Great pic by the way .

Thanks.

I don't think it's a shark barrier. If you are referring to the white caps in the deeper water, I believe those were jet skis. If you are referring to the bouys, that was the hotel's swimming area. I guess that was the portion that the life guard watched. Those waves were big enough to knock you down and keep you under for a bit.:D

Yes, that is a very good view. And the white sands look about the same here.
