Not that anyone would care, but Cuero had an eighth grader run 23.4 200 meters at the Yoakum track meet this weekend. Look that up in the various high school meets you run across. Pretty salty. Oh yeah, he's a tailback.

Stefon Hargrove. Son of school record holder Luke Hargrove. Luke ran sub-22's back in the 70's.

Anybody know if they keep records for 8th grade track anywhere? I would kinda like to see some of the numbers if there are any.

I'll be checking out the 8th graders in the Venus Relays Friday. I have a daughter that is a Venus Bulldog and really has a nice kick in the mile and mile and 1/2. Not sure what other schools will be there but I'll have to watch for the times in the 200.

Cant really ever trust handheld times in track! Or at least i dont!

What about 8th graders that throw the shot 48 feet and the discus 150 feet? Would that be something to get excited about? Or do they not do those accurate either? :p

i was timing at the meet that the cuero kid ran the 23.4. when he came around the corner we thought he was the only one in the race because no one was close to him. he won by 30 yds.also very well mannered young man. i remember when his dad ran track in the late 80's. he was awesome.he lived in yoakum and ran track for us thru his junior yr. and then moved to cuero where he continued his track career.

Report on the Venus Relays (JR High)

Kennedale cleaned up!

My daughter (lady Z Motion Jr from Venus) did win the 800 with a time of 2:45. She took third in the mile with a time of 6:42 and took 4th in the 400. I didn't get her time on that one. So I was very proud of her!!!!!

But Kennedale had a runner place in each and every event. Very impressive.
