The Killers with Burt Lancaster coming to tv in August!

It will be on August 24th at 5 A.M. on Cinemax. This is a great movie told mostly in flashback form staring Burt Lancaster, Ava Gardner and Edmond O'Brien. The two killers are played by William Conrad and Charles McGraw. A good movie indeed. Don't miss it. The movie was made in 1946 and was Burt's first starring role.

POSSIBLE SPOILER WARNING!

Near the end of the movie when the Killers enter into the cabaret to kill Edmond O'Brien the movie shows one of the customers smoking at the bar and it is none other than Kirk Douglas! This was a great find. It wasn't a cameo appearance because Kirk wasn't known at this time so his appearance here is what they call an extra. These type of finds are great.

The thing is that back then the credits were shown at the beginning of moves and they just showed the basically main people in the movie and the main staff. Sometimes at the end they might show the cast of characters but quite often it ended with the words The End. Nowadays at the end of the movie they show everyone that had anything to do with the movie which is probably mostly good. They even show everyone who had a part - no matter how small, who drove a car on the set, who went for donuts, who kept the set clean and even who the divorce attorneys were if anyone was going through a divorce. :)
