Truck hauling frozen chickens crashes into Humble dealership

An tractor trailer carrying frozen chickens drove into an Humble car dealership early this morning, damaging about 20 vehicles, authorities said.
The driver of the 18-wheeler told police the right front tire of the truck blew out around 1:12 a.m. while he was traveling south in the 18800 block of Eastex freeway, said Officer Brian Waldroup with the Humble Police Department.
The blowout caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, veer to the right, cross over a grassy median and the service road before crashing into the Nissan delearship, Waldroup said.
The truck struck about 20 vehicles, valued between $15 to $20 thousand each, as well as light pole and a fire hydrant which flooded a large portion of the parking lot, Waldroup said.
No one was injured in the accident.
"The trailer turned out okay, but it was the truck itself that was all banged up," Waldroup said adding that the none of the frozen chickens spilled from the truck .
The case is still under investigation and Waldroup said alcohol was not a factor.
