View Full Version : Photo of a dog after a dogfight

I found the link on a Redskins website.

This link isn't for those with a weak stomach. This is what the dogs often look like after a fight.

http://www.hailredskins.com/?p=41#more-41

While Vick deserves his due process, if he is found guilty(or for that matter anyone else who was possibly involved in this), he deserves the absolute worst that the law can give to him.

EDIT: They don't link directly to the picture on the homepage. To get the link I posted you have to click on the rest of the story. The author of the article gives a warning before looking at the photo.

How in the world could someone let/force that to happen to a dog? Ridiculous

I work at Sports Authority in the footwear department and we pulled all of the Vick cleats off the shelf and sent them back to Nike because of all of his off the field decisions. What a mess of stupidity.

That is horrible! I am so sad to see somebody let that happen to an innocent animal!

I agree. This may sound weird, but I love to hunt but that is just wrong.

I hate to bring this up, but I'm going to, if only to further display the absolute obscenity of the whole sport: in south Louisiana, they used to give the fighting dogs kittens to toy with and kill. I'm sure it has been done other places, too, not trying to put down my home state.

My gosh...That's some sick human beings who did that. I can't imagine what would make a person think it's okay to do something like that.

Looking at the photo of that dog was shocking to me. I couldn't get that image out of my head all day at work. I guess it doesn't quite seem as real until you actually see the effects it has on the dog. I'm not someone that is ever going to align myself in any way, shape, form or fashion with PETA, but Good Lord this dogfighting stuff is really, really disturbing. I sincerely hope that if Vick (or any of his buddies) did this that he'll become a pariah for doing such cruel things to dogs.

it's not weird

Sorry folks, but that picture looks fake. Dogs don't have "rib bones" sticking out from where their ears should be. They have "skulls" like any other mammal. I have seen some pictures of dogs after a fight and they aren't pretty, but this one is pushing a little too hard.

That's kind of what I was thinking they were.

i had a dog that had to have some drainage tubes put in like that for some reason...i cant remember what happened to him to cause it

Perhaps the lower left and lower right are tubes. What's going to "drain" from the one sticking straight up on the left top? That's also not a tube in the center forehead area. We have several Vets on this board, let's see what they say.

well...you have to remember that the dog will be spending the majority of its time laying down. When the dog lays down it would be able to drain out of those top ones maybe

It just didn't strike me at all as being bones that are sticking out the side of its head. I looked at it more like KA did. I'm sure we can get one of the vets of this board to describe it in better detail though and give a clear explanation of just exactly what it is.

I heard from one of our Vets, and he says the picture appears to be authentic, that those are tubes sticking out. Sorry, my mistake.
