I have to give a vote to one of our own down here in the Coastal Bend... Coach Kaspr-kadfjadk-yk over in Sinton. Three state titles, two of which were back to back, and I couldn't tell you how many consecutive playoff appearances.

Ok, BDR, I'll give you a hand on this one. His name is Gene Kaspryzk (pronounced kasprik). And, I'll agree. He is one of the best in the state.

I think the most "up and coming" baseball Coach might well be Shane Hanks from Orangefield. Now OF has to go against Hardin-Jefferson, Buna and Bridge City all rated in the top 15 in the polls. But, in addition, they must face, Hamshire-Fannett, Hardin, and Anahuac which are no slouch teams also. I have seen OF pull off upsets that were well planned by good Coaching techniques. It's good to see good young players, in just a few years make good 3A coaches.

You know i may be partial to the matter but i will have to say Scott Lee is the best coach in Texas> Although he is my dad i believe this. He makes a bad team good.

I would say Forney's old coach Ronnie Ortegon...but the Philadelphia Phillies called him up about a year and a half ago...he took Forney to the state tournament 3 straight years

I am sorry to hear that Shane Hanks is not going to Coach OF this baseball season. I would think it's because his little son Cade, requires an enormous amount of care and medical attention at present. However, I have heard rumors that OF's typical history of hicktown oil patch politics, is beginning to emerge again out there. I sure hope that is not true, they seem to have grown past that in the last few years.

I did find out that it was Orangefield politics in the baseball change. Shane Hanks, at 29 years of age is one of the most respected Baseball Coaches in the County. And most people around here think it was his Coaching that brought Orangefield into the runnerup position in 21-3A football this season. I am not really worried, I think that some 4A or progressive 3A will snatch him up, as a head coach. This 29 year old has a lot of Baseball and Football savvy, and is very popular in the school system. If Coach Moore, from Bridge City, were to accept one of his many offers out there, I would love to see Hanks get the job over here. Both of these men are good at Coaching, but don't play politics.
