Jasper's road schedule in district last year was brutal. Compile that with the fact that the team was terrible and you've got a recipe for disaster. With coach Brooks back, it's only a matter of time before the Bulldogs are making a deep playoff run. The only question in my mind is how quickly can that happen?

Jasper has too much talent to have many seasons like last year. Everything I heard about Jasper's 2007 football team sounded like a fluke.....I also heard many rumors that the players were at odds with the coaches.

The return of Coach Brooks is a daunting omen for 21-3A. I want my Orangefield Bobcats to win against the 'dogs at home, but it's going to be a tough row to hoe.

21-3A district competition is going to be fierce and, once again this year, at least one or two, possibly three, quality teams will be staying home in November. Jasper's district-opening game against Kirbyville may go along way in deciding play-off berths. That's a linch-pin contest to be played in only the 4th game of the season!

I'll predict Jasper a close 4th behind WOS, Silsbee, and Kirbyville.

Only once in 25 years has Jasper sat at home 2 consecutive years from the playoffs. Let's hope it stays that way.

Who is the Rawls kid? I'm obviously a long way from home, so fill me in. :)

I agree! I'm about the only person in SE Texas that thinks Jasper gets in. Brooks will get them in, trust me.

If I am thinking of the right person, I think he is a soph who last year busted out for a 50 plus yard TD on his second varsity carry. The coaches brought him up to the varsity to scrimmage the starters. The J starters couldn't handle him, so they put him in the game. He may prove to be a major force.
