There is an additional fire that has started next to Reunion Arena. There are reports of flame shooting off at roughly the height of Reunion Tower. I-30 is shutdown....

DALLAS -- Explosions followed by black, billowing smoke erupted from a gas plant near downtown Dallas, according to broadcast reports Wednesday.

The Interstate 35 and Interstate 30 exchange has been shut down and an evacuation of a half-mile radius of the 500 block of South Industrial Avenue has been ordered, according to KRLD/AM1080. The explosions started at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Video from a news helicopter shows cannisters of liquid gas exploding in the lot and intense orange blazes fueling the black clouds. A witness has told KRLD that ash is raining in the downtown area. The tanks stopped exploding around 10 a.m.

Traffic is gridlocked in the south part of downtown.

KRLD indentified the facility as Southwest Industrial Gasses Inc., 538 S Industrial Blvd.

More details as they become available.

It's been a great car for me. My one word of advice is DO NOT buy it in Abilene at Sterling. You can save a lot of money going elsewhere. I learned that the hard way. :( If you're looking at a pkg 2 Jetta or a Passat...I would also recommend looking at the Acura TSX.
