We haven't heard from our male cat all morning, and his play pal Clem has been so hyper all morning running back and forth to the front windows, and extremely vocal.

Terry just went out to check the mail and when he came in he was yelling, "Crystal! Look what I found outside!!!"

It was Giles, covered in dirt and soot, and it looks like some kind of lube.

Now mind you this is a pretty boy cat, that all the ladies love. He is snow white with golden spots, and brown (almost red) eyes.

He is filthy, and oiur only guess is he went up the chimney, and was out for god knows how long. This is our first fire place, so any suggestions on how we can prevent this in the future?

We are lucky he didn't hurt himself, let alone kill himself. We have no trees around and can't figure out how he got from the roof to the ground!!!

If we knew where our camera was I would take some pics to show how dirty he is.

How 'bout ya unstuck it? Doing that will also help your electrical bill. Further, have you fireplace cleaned. If the damper sticks and there is that much soot, it is probaly a fire hazard waiting to burn down your home next winter. It is just my $.02 from a fire fighter.

They sell screens that go across the fireplace opening. They even have very decorative ones that have glass in them.

LOL:D NO

If the damper is open enough for that big ass fat cat to get past it, then you are losing $$$$ on your electric bill.

Get it fixed......:D

Lets consider the California mindset.....

You can't build new electric plants to keep your home warm. You cannot burn wood to do so. Wonder what the solution is in 'ole San Fran? OOPS!!! Nevermind!!!!
