Harlingen vs Houston Bellaire i did the same except fairfield isn't on there...its down to me rockwall mansfield and harker heights....i have defeated terrell 66-14 in the first game and cedar hill like 45-14 in the second game...you can tell from the first play the game plays much better than 07...60 fps is noticable

I'm playing as a QB and its taken some time to get the hang of the new controls. I've made a few mistakes because of poor stick skills but hopefully it will be better in game 2. My RB is a stud in the 1st half but the computer slows him down in the 2nd half.

Yeah I played mine as a QB on AA. It was definitely tough making some of the passes. Mesquite tore me a new one in the championship game. One thing I noticed is that whether I had a great game or a bad one...I still was a 4* star recruit after every week of the playoffs.

Hopefully I'll get to play more tonight and that the ps3 rosters will be out soon. I read that the 360 ones SHOULD be out today but it may be a few days on the ps3! :(

Idk if its available on ps2 or not. When you create your new player...you pick a city, state and then name your school. When assigning your player equipment, you can also pick from about 15 (est) different uniform combos for your team to wear. The game then generates 15 other schools for you to play based on the towns it has loaded into its memory. You start in the round of 16 in the playoffs playing at a school. If you make the state championship it's played at DKR in Austin. Obviously if you choose a school in a different state then you would play in the big stadium for that state.

I breezed through the state championship. I was a QB on AA, was a 4* all the way up until the state championship game then went 12/17 for 250 yards.

I am 2nd string at TCU.

Yeah it gave me the same offers. It starts with West Virginia and works it way down the list with a few schools not on the list. That was rather disappointing. I did like how you have to bust your but in practice to move up a spot on the depth chart though.

That's good to hear. I went to get the game at Wal-Mart last night only to be told "yeah we outsource our game dept and they have the games...we don't keep anything in back. You'll have to come back at 230 to 3 AM." So I just went to GameStop and paid the full price. I did get a free $9.99 game at G/S though as compensation for my WM troubles so that was nice of them.

Just get a really long ethernet cord. If you are to far away for that, then a wireless thing is to laggy to play sports games anyways. I used the $100 lynksys wireless gaming router, then I played NCAA and everyone said I was lagging.

Don't buy the battery packs, just go to the dollar store or somewhere with cheap batteries and buy 20 of them. Will last you a year.

Microsoft declined to detail the problems that have caused an onslaught of "general hardware failures" in recent months but said Thursday it will extend the warranty on the consoles to three years.

The glitches, and the bad publicity, could weigh the company down as it claws for market share in the highly competitive console market. In May, the Xbox 360 ranked No. 2 in unit sales behind Nintendo's Wii, but still beat out Sony's Playstation 3, according to data from NPD Group.

"We don't think we've been getting the job done," said Robbie Bach, president of Microsoft's entertainment and devices division, which also makes the Zune digital music player, a distant competitor to Apple Inc.'s powerhouse iPod. "In the past few months, we have been having to make Xbox 360 console repairs at a rate too high for our liking."

Bach said the company made some manufacturing and production changes that he expects will reduce Xbox 360 hardware lockups, but he declined to identify the problems or say which others might remain. Microsoft said it will record a charge of up to $1.15 billion for its fourth fiscal quarter, which ended June 30, to cover the additional costs associated with the warranty extension.

The news comes just days before the video game industry descends on Santa Monica, California, for its annual E3 conference, and it could overshadow Microsoft's plans to build buzz for holiday season video game releases and "Halo 3," a much-anticipated shoot-'em-up for the Xbox 360 set to launch in September.

The software maker also said Thursday that sales of the game console fell short of expectations for the fiscal year that just ended.

Matt Rosoff, an analyst at the independent research group Directions on Microsoft, estimates that Microsoft's entertainment and devices division has lost more than $6 billion since 2002.

Microsoft has written down larger amounts in the past -- more than $10 billion in the late 1990s related to investments in telecommunications companies, and more than $5 billion related to antitrust issues -- but a $1 billion write-down for one division in one quarter is significant.

"It suggests the problem is pretty widespread," Rosoff said.

Microsoft will pay for shipping and repairs for three years, worldwide, for consoles that experience hardware failure, which is usually indicated by three flashing red lights on the front of the console, something gamers sometimes refer to as "the red ring of death."

This isn't the first time Microsoft has made changes to the Xbox 360 repair plan. Last December, the company extended the warranty from 90 days to one year for U.S. customers. In Europe, the warranty previously expired after two years.

Microsoft also will reimburse the "small number" of Xbox 360 owners who have paid for shipping and repairs on out-of-warranty consoles, Bach said.

In June, bloggers speculated that the Xbox 360 return problem was getting so severe that the company was running out of "coffins," or special return-shipping boxes Microsoft provides to gamers with dead consoles. "We'll make sure we have plenty of boxes to go back and forth," Bach said in an interview.

Chris Liddell, Microsoft's chief financial officer, said in a conference call that the company sold 11.6 million Xbox 360 consoles since the product's November 2005 launch, missing a target for 12 million units by the end of the fiscal year.

Xbox 360 prices range from $299 to $479, depending on their configuration.

Microsoft's entertainment and devices division reported an operating loss of $315 million on $929 million in sales for the three-month period that ended in March. Microsoft has said it expects the division to post a profit in fiscal 2008.

Microsoft announced the warranty extension after markets closed Thursday. Microsoft shares fell 11 cents to $29.88 in extended trading after falling 3 cents to $29.99 in the regular session.

I lost my first game just now. I was messing around with Boise's playbook, I fumbled the first play doing the hook and ladder. I was down 31-24 with 2 minutes left, I had just got down the his 20 and I accidently pitched it. Like the 4th time I have done that. Had to make RB the pitch button so I wouldn't hit it.

They definitely improved the AI on defense to get rid of a lot of trash plays such as throw it deep to tall WR's and watch them stop in front of the DB and jump (block) him out of the play. The success rates of the deep pass went from about 60% on 2007 to 10% on 2008. Much more realistic.

I went deep quite a bit pounding the ball and then going to the play action. i played some fool who thought he could blitz me non-stop. lol he had me on my heels for the first 2 series, but I adjusted and the dude had no answer.

Yeah what I've played of the new game...I've learned that dumb, unrealistic passes will get batted down and picked off easily. I've completed a few long bombs when the computer went Cover 0 but if there are safeties back there you have very little chance of the "throw it up and hope to catch it" style of play anymore. Some of that has to do with my QB being a freshman with mediocre passing skills right now.

Created a RB last night...went through the playoffs and he actually came out as a 5* after the championship game. I chose to take the 2nd string spot at Cal instead of a 3rd-5th string spot at one of the top echelon schools. I'll post his #'s but I believe he was 80 overall with 91 speed and 85+ strength. He's 5'11" 200 lbs.

I did the same thing except I took 3rd string at Auburn. I torched every team I faced in the Playoffs. This part of the game is awesome. I havent done anything else yet.

how do you switch primary receivers at the line of scrimmage? for instance x is highlighted but i want RB to be. so i won't have to use the left trigger and switch vision

No Idea. I don't use the vision cone. I don't even think it works, I have accidently had it pop up and be point the opposite way of the receiver I throw it to and it's still a perfect throw.

Trying selecting the play through the "Key Player" part, and just do a running back pass play.

I'm not at home to double check this but I believe the right analog stick will pull up the vision cone if you're scanning through receivers during a play.

The 64mb memory cards are fine since it's just 1.4 mb file. I don't know of anyone other than Microsoft making memory cards though.

You've always been able to manuely type them in and the annoucers would say the real names. But I wonder if you could't form a program and save them to a jump drive and transfer them that way...

This guy types in the names for every team on the game. You save it onto your computer and you use a transfer kit to get it onto a memory card.

You can't use a jump drive or anything like that. It's a game save and those can only be read off of a memory card or HDD

Passing deep is sometimes to hard. I had a game against Air Force and I couldn't pass deep at all, 1 on 1 and a corner 10yards back would jump without looking and deflect the ball.

You just have to sit in the pocket and let it form around you, which it does alot better job this year. If you throw off your back foot you will never complete a pass.

Maybe I just need to give it more time. only drop back about 3 steps (one or 2 if you are in the gun) start stepping up in the pocket it helps and buys a you a little more time....you ahve to be patient and get set in the pocket if you rush the computer makes you pay for it

If you let the CPU drop back for you, it goes twice as fast. It doesn't automatically pass anymore if you don't press a button.

Yeah some of them have definitely been my fault but when my team is picking off 7 INT's a game...that's a bit much when the INT slider is on 0.

Overall I think this game is outstanding. much improved over 07. the campus legend mode is awesome. Iam LB at Michigan and I started within about 2 games. I love it but its a littlwe frustrating at times with not being able to get off of blocks. The dynasty is great, I like how they were very in depth with the recruiting but honestly its almost to much to handle to try and keep all yours recruits and current players happy and without transferring, and for me after about 2 or 3 seasons of recruting I have a loaded team with 3rd stringers that are 90's or higher that dont even see the field and thats a big problem with this new keep a promise stuff and trying to make everybody happy and then doin the in depth recruiting makes it seem like a lifetime just trying to get through a season. Im not ragging on it. I guess it will just take a little time to get adapted to this new style. and will someone on here please give a full detailed post as to what this downloadible roster is all about? do u download it and then it has the names for every team or what? do they have it where u can download it off the net straight to ur xbox360, kinda like when u download maps for halo or sumthing? please explain.

well in the 2 days i got to play the game on my xbox it was fun. defensive AI was definitely better, but after nearly 5 years my xbox died today.

ok i'm ready to play online, I went 4-0 versus my friends last night in dominating fashion.. if anyone is interested in playing me on the xbox 360 online let me know and i'll play..

also, I had trouble throwing picks alot when I first started playing, but quickly realized that its not a smart idea to use the "precision passing" like I did on madden because the qbs will over throw the receiver you are trying to lead about 85% of the time and it ends up getting picked.. if you let off the left stick when you throw the ball the QB will put it right on the receiver (unless the DB makes a good break on the ball).. hope that helps

Only trouble I have in passing is consistently throwing lob passes. There have been alot of times online I noticed my WR will be open deep so I hot route, and I go to throw it and it throws a bullet 10 yards behind the receiver.

you got lucky.. my friends started playing Tiger woods on Wii while I was playing you and it distracted me during the 4th quarter.. under normal playing conditions I would have dominated

Is anybody else having problems with their receiver occasionally dropping a pass when they're wide open? It happened to me twice in one game. One should have been a touchdown on 4th down.

Also, I always get a D- when it comes to catching. Do I need to switch to the receiver after I throw the ball or something?
