I am not a scientist and I don't even play one on TV but all of the doomsayers would have had us believe that we would have been whacked by a hurricane by now. We had a named storm that barely made tropical storm status if it actually did and the news media was all ga ga about hurricanes. The 2006 season was below normal with nothing nearing 2005. We know that 2005 and 2006 were caused by man made global warming. Just wondering what's going on this year.

Any storm2k people on here?

I know it's officially hurricane season, but isn't it a little early yet for a storm?

A few years ago we only had one up until August then in August we had 10 named storms form.

In 2005 it was up to Hurricane Gert by July 24. Cindy, a minimal hurricane actually hit Louisiana earlier in the season.

True there haven't been any real storms, but the most active time for the Gulf of Mexico usually lies from August through October, I believe. I won't rest comfortably until November.

2006 was up to TS Beryl by July 24. Guess this could be another 2006 like season. Hope it stays quiet.

Well, I remember Hurricane Bret. It hit our area back in mid to late August of 1999. That was the second storm of that season. I could care less how many storms they predict will form. This time of year, I make it point to catch the Tropical Update on the Weather Channel a couple times a week. You never know where one will pop up.

George is too busy with the war to make any hurricanes right no.
maybe if he gets a mid-summer cease fire he can get e-r going.

Everything is georges fault.

Shush it about the hurricane talk. I'm off to Cancun in less that 2 weeks and I don't want anything to spoil it.

I remember that...it hit the day after our couples shower, which like our wedding was held in CC. All of our guests had to leave early to go board up their houses.
