NW of Houston about 20 miles or so, on SH 249. SWMustang lives there and I've looked at houses there.

NW of Houston
W of Spring
Near intersection of TX 2920 and TX 249

All I did there was stop at a station to gas up, buy a newspaper and coffee.
The place has a 5A school, so you ought to be able to find something to do there

good luck

In June, they had the Tomball Heartbeat Festival. Lots of country bands.

I know Sweetwater beat them in the 1985 4A finals.

If we'd have beaten New Braunfels in the regional finals we would've played Tomball in the semis in '85. :(

In '84, G-P had one of the best teams they ever had under Ray Akins and got absolutely smoked in the semis by Tomball, 48-7. They lost in the finals that year to Denison.

Well, at least I'll go into Tomball knowing their football history of the past 15 years or so. When you guys can think of any good restaurants or something to do at night just let me know. :p

Well, I'm back. Tomball wasn't that bad but it did kind of feel like everything was just crammed in there. I did have a pretty good time at an pub named Molly's.

I don't know how I missed this thread. Molly's is OK, but Baker street pub at willowbrook is much better. I hope you went to Goodson's cafe for a chicken fried steak.

Nope. My partner, who decided to try to pocket as much of our meal money as possible, kept dragging my butt to Cici's. That was the only part of the trip that really sucked.

I would have left his butt at CiCi's and went to Goodson's.

Tomball area has a couple of good restaraunts. One is Goodson's Cafe in Tomball (dang good CFS) right on the main road, and the other is Las Cucos out of Tomball toward Houston. There are a bunch of antique shops in Tomball. South of Tomball on the northwest corner of Houston is Hwy 6 & Hwy 290 and just a few blocks east of that intersection is Trader's Village (on Eldridge)which is a BIG flea market open on Saturday and Sunday only. Just west of Tomball about 11 miles is Magnolia. There is a place there called Hot Dogs & More that makes the BEST Hamburger you've ever had. Further west from Magnolia toward Plantersville is where the Texas Renaissance Festival is. Between Tomball and Magnolia, there's an Indian store on the left owned by a friend of mine. Not sure what it's called now. Most of the roads between 290 and 249 have a number of christmas tree farms on them. And being from south Texas, you're gonna see pine trees like you won't believe.

I stopped by Prasek's Smokehouse on US 59. That was a pretty good place.

You might want to try the pecan smoked bbq place on 59 at Wharton too. Pretty good. There's another one in Sealy too, same company.

Oh, BTW, straight up 290 from hwy 6 is hempstead. They have a place there called DiLorrio farms, and it has fruits and vegetables galore. Lots of other stuff too. Pretty neat place

Best stops on 59 between Victoria and Houston are Prasek's Hillje Smokehouse (Hillje) and Mikeska's BBQ (El Campo).

So was RB Bubba Greeley, who teamed with Pavlas on some good teams. Lynn Etheredge was the head coach.

Lots of stuff to around Willowbrook Mall (Baker Street, etc.). Nice area & they play great baseball there for sure. Lots of kids come out of Tomball in baseball...
