What was the first college football game that you can actually remember getting up for...?

Back when Kordell was leading Colorado over Michigan...then he unleashed the most unreal hail mary....

I was talking football with my cousin, and he remember the 86 PennSt/Miami game where The U came off the plane in camoflauge and then thoroughly got their rears handed to them in Happy Valley

1975 Texas/Texas A&M. Aggies were highly ranked and won 20-10. Another good one was Texas/Oklahoma 1977...UT won 13-6 with a late 4th down stop in the red zone.

I love how we can never follow instructions. :D

First college game that made me want to watch college football? Miami vs. Ohio State - I started watching after that National Championship game.

First PRO game that sticks out in my memory (I'm so ashamed it is NOT a Cowboy game :o ) is 49'ners vs. the Bengals. I fell :inlove: with Joe Montana that night!!

High School game - Sinton vs. Mathis 2001; 45-0 :D

You're telling someone else they can't follow instructions? Now there's some irony...:p

1970 Cotton Bowl - We were at my Grandparents' in Arkansas watching the game. My Aunt (originally from Kansas) was cheering for ND while the rest of us cheered for UT.  Needless to say, she was not happy. :D (It's the first "big" college game that stands out.)

I have always watched football...but it took one game to get me totally hooked on college ball. In 1997 I was stationed at Ft. Bragg, NC and a buddy had a brother that was going to school at UT Knoxville. He got us tickets and we drove out to catch a game on a long weekend and a young QB by the name of Peyton Manning torched Texas Tech I believe it was and I've been a college football junkie every since, not to mention a Peyton Manning fan.

I had seen a lot of great bowl games on tv as I growing up involving the likes of Ohio State, Texas, Tennessee, USC, Michigan, UCLA, etc. The 1st college game I ever attended in person was more exciting though.

It was 1966 in Lubbock. Arkansas was rolling that year and all they had to do was beat the hapless Red Raiders to win the SWC. I was in the student section as Tech put it on them 21-16. SMU went to the Cotton that year and lost to Georgia, 24-9. I enjoyed watching the Red Raider mascot ride his horse around the track every time Tech scored.

That said, college ball is not as exciting to me as high school ball.

My first real college football game was the 1962 Cotton Bowl when Texas beat Mississippi 12 to 7. A great game indeed.

I don't kow who Texas played because I was just 5 or 6. We sat in the upper deck and that was the scariest place I had ever been. You felt like you were going to fall off the earth. Remember I was little.

After that, Any game played on David St or at Sacred Heart school yard between the years of 1968 and 1978. Muddy football was the best too...............
