I remember when a late touchdown and safety sealed a win for the bobcats in the semifinals over the defending state champions from Stanton, shutting out the powerful offense led by Kyle Herm on a cold and wet night, 9-0.

I remember standing in the rain waiting for a 2 hour delay to watch Celina play Pilot Point and win 10-0 in their stadium, soaken to the bone but cheering like crazy after getting off of work early just to go to the game.

I remember the game against Gainesville in 2002 in Celina, with nearly 7,000 people stacked into 1,500 person Bobcat Stadium, seven or eight deep along the fenceline, to watch a great (depending on your point of view, i guess)

I remember watching Pilot Point play Quinlan-Ford and winning on a two-point conversion drawn up by GA Moore in the final seconds, instead of playing for overtime (23-22 final)

I remember a Jarrod Martin, who scored 30 out of Celina's 32 points in the 1995 state championship (what an awesome game that was) and still the greatest individual player (at the HS level) Celina ever had (still ranks third in Texas history with 862 points scored)

I also remember a missed extra point after a touchdown drive with 8 seconds left that ended four and a half seasons of perfect football, at the hands of a great daingerfield team

What memorable moments do you remember?

I remember the Columbia comeback against Silsbee. People were crying in those last moments. You could tell something was going to happen.

I remember the Pearland/ Cy- Fair playoff game. Sam Proctor had a horrible game, then led a miraculous last drive, going 9 for 15 with a game winning TD.

I remember Jerry Woodard drilling a Cuero returnman back in 04. The sound of the hit rang for minutes.

I remember the next year against Wimberly. Minks drilling a punt returner. I still say he called for the fair catch too late.

My junior year, we had to beat Beeville on their home field in the last game of the regular season to make the playoffs for the first time in 29 years. They were undefeated and ranked in the top 10 but we pulled it off 17-10 in a game that was played in semi-freezing drizzle. The 'Cats haven't missed the playoffs since. What's so cool is that I look at the last 23 years of Calallen football and think "We started all of that." That above all else makes me the proudest.

oh so many - some good, some I wish I could forget - but one that sticks in my mind - I think was Gobbla's Senior year, maybe - in Sealy when Cuero came from 2 TD's behind and won - breaking a LONG losing streak against the Tiggers... (Old Green or Gobbla - am I close on the year?)

another was in 2004 when the guy from Palestine fumbled that punt.

Giddings vs Llano in 97'. Llano was inside our 20 and just had to get a FG to win for some reason they let the time expire without an attempt. Not sure what happened.

Giddings vs. Newton I think it was 2001. In Huntsvegas.

Giddings threw a half back pass down the sideline to win the game with time expiring.

These stories are as my memory serves (which isn't saying alot).

I remember Ballinger playing the Winters Blizzards in the early seventies in a driving snow to a zero to zero tie....talk about miserable...

I remember the 1983 Ballinger Bearcats upsetting the #1 team in the state at the time (the littlefield wildcats) on a last second scoring drive to win 18 to 16 in Sweetwater.

I remember an underdog Ballinger team playing the 7th ranked Colorado City Wolves in 1984 and beating them 28 to seven and went on to finish the regular season undefeated.

I remember ballinger in the 1995 regional finals losing to Springtown by one or two points on the last play of the game which was a 4th and goal at the goaline and Springtown held to seal the victory. Of course the Ballinger folks swear that our running back crossed the goaline.

I remember a completely outmatched Ballinger team upsetting a loaded Kennedale team (same team that defeated Everman that year) at Shotwell stadium around 2002 or so. The backfield on that Kennedale team was like playing hot potato with a stick of dynamite....they could explode on you at any time....fortunately for Ballinger they could also fumble.

I remember a scrawny sophomore named Cedric Benson light up San Angelo Central for over 200 yards rushing....I thought at the time that this kid might have a future in college football....

I remember the 1983 Daingerfield team destroying Sweeny in the state finals 42-0....with two touchdowns called back. Our team was one game away from having to play that Daingerfield team and I remember thinking that I would still like a shot at playing them even though we wouldn't have stood a chance. I remember one of there 240 lb. linemen doing backflips when they scored and that linemen were playing running back by the end of the game.

I remember the feeling of getting Dave Campbell's Texas Football the summer going into my junior year and reading that we were ranked 7th in the state....I was slated to start that year and was scared to death to be ranked that high...but also excited....fun times!

I remember playing middle linebacker in 8th grade against Sweetwater. We were tied 0-0 going into the last play of the game. The Sweetwater QB dropped back for a last second "hail mary" and our outside linebacker sacked him...the ball flew up in the air and I caught the ball and ran it back 60 yards for a touchdown with no time left on the clock...sealing a 6-0 victory. I guess you could say that it was all down hill after 8th grade!

Some "mom things", but then what did you expect? :p

My oldest son's 8th grade year, they were playing Gatesville. He got through the OL to sack the QB for about a 7 yd loss.

Same son's sophomore year (2000), he was on JV and got moved up to Varsity for the last two games of the season. Varsity hadn't had a good year. Burnet was the next to last home game, Patrick Miller was the Burnet stud, and we were getting beat pretty bad. My son finally got in the game the 2nd half.....sacked the QB. :) (No one had come close to the QB earlier in the game.) He played the entire game the next week against ITM, and we won.

I guess there are two things that mean the most to me. The first is knowing that his Senior season set the bar for all the kids that followed here on the field. Yes, it has definitely been raised since, but that's a good thing. The second is treasuring every play my kids are on the field in a game they all love. It's not really about the W/L.

I was in Cameron for that one.

It was a tough loss. I think we were up like 20-0 at one point weren't we?

Anyway it was a good game (but a terrible stadium).

The feeling i had running onto the field against Cuero in '03, It was the closet i ever got to playing College football. At least it felt like it was. Both crowds were huge, loud and packed at Victoria Memorial's Stadium

Kellen Heard's blocked FG attempt in the same game to seal the win!!!!

Which we were The Best Wharton team in over 20 Years!!!!!

Also sweet was Celina's victory in the quarterfinals in 1998 over Italy, which had knocked us out of the playoffs two years in a row, 17-0 and 28-20. In the third meeting, we took it 17-10 in a great game that we controlled the tempo of. We felt invincible after that one, and it helped when we faced the defending champs from Stanton the next week, doing what Italy had failed to do the year before in beating them.
